JOIN THE MY FRIEND THE LIBRARY
VIDEO CHALLENGE

Do you love libraries?  Have a favorite book?  What about a librarian that inspired you?

Create an original song, poem, rap, dance, or any performing art about what the library means to you. If creativity isn't your thing, make a video about your favorite book to inspire others to read!

CHALLENGE INSTRUCTIONS

Follow the steps below

to create and send us your video.

STEP 1

GET CREATIVE

  1. What is your favorite book or genre to read and why?

  2. What 3 books would you bring with you to a deserted island?

  3. Share a story of your favorite librarian.

  4. Share the story of when you first discovered the library.

  5. Choose your own library prompt!

STEP 2

MAKE YOUR VIDEO

1 Ask the parent or guardian in your home to film your video using a phone or camera.

2 Choose a location with ample lighting and position the camera at eye or above eye level.

3 For better balance, use the rule of 3rds when filming and stand at least 3-4 feet away from the camera. Remember to stay within the frame of the video!
(Choose a medium shot, 4 - 5 feet, or a long shot, 5 - 7 feet for your video.)

4 Keep the camera steady and horizontal, speak loud and clearly, and 3...2...1... Action! Take as many pauses or takes needed until you get your perfect shot.

5 Keep your video submissions within the range of 30 seconds - 3 minutes for the best chance to shine!

STEP 3

SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO

Ask an adult to click the button below to submit your finished video and get featured on our website!

Here are some tips on how to make a video.

When your video is ready, ask the adult in your home to fill out the form below.

Rules for Submission:

  • Video should be between 30 seconds and 3 minutes

  • Use Google Drive, Vimeo, Dropbox, or any File Transfer Program OR email to library@gordoneducation.org

  • Link should be viewable and downloadable without a password

By entering a song, poem, rap, dance, or another performing art on behalf of someone aged under 18, you are consenting to the following:


• I am over 18 and the legal parent/guardian of the child/children in the submitted video.


• I grant Gordon Education a royalty-free license to display the song/poem/rap/dance/performance art in any territory.


• Gordon Education has the right to edit any submission to fit the requirements needed.


By entering a song, poem, rap, or performance art you are confirming that you have read, understood, and consent to the statements above.
